Enhanced Functionality in Detail

Configuration Administrator
Create your own customized installation program files using the Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator. Choose the features you require and create multiple install sets to suit different locations and needs.

Customization Code
Encrypt the Configuration Administrator and all Deep Freeze installations with a unique Customization Code to ensure that no other administrators can access or control a workstation.

Multiple Passwords
Preset up to four passwords and assign them each to be used on a workstation or via the Command Line Control.

Frozen Drives
Selectively Freeze or Thaw any fixed drives that exist on a workstation.

Restart/Shutdown Schedule
Schedule automatic restarts or shutdowns of your workstations to ensure that Deep Freeze eradicates all changes as often as you desire. Different schedules can be set for each day of the week.

Idle Time Restart/Shutdown
Specify a restart or shutdown after a preset length of time that the workstation has been idle; this is powerful in a multi-user environment. The idle timer will not restart until the mouse or keyboard have been used again to prevent the workstation from constantly restarting.

Scheduled Maintenance
Schedule periods when workstations will be Thawed and available for upgrades, new installations, maintenance, or any other activity that requires permanent changes. Different schedules can be set for each day of the week. The ability to automatically disable the keyboard and mouse during this period ensures the integrity of your workstations. During the Maintenance period, coordinate and task Microsoft Windows Critical Updates to take place either via the Internet or an SUS server; or run a custom batch file to update your antivirus definitions or perform any other tasks you require.

ThawSpace
Create a virtual partition on a workstation that can be used to store programs, save files, or make permanent changes. Specify the size and file system of the ThawSpace (up to 100GB using NTFS). All files stored in a ThawSpace will be saved after a restart, even if the workstation is Frozen.

Stealth Mode
Specify whether the Deep Freeze icon will appear in the system tray.

One Time Passwords
Generate encrypted One Time or One Day Passwords that expire at midnight on the day they are created so you never have to provide a permanent password to anyone for any reason.

Deep Freeze Command Line Control (DFC)
Remotely manage Deep Freeze installations using command lines. Our scripting utility enables seamless integration of Deep Freeze with management or imaging solutions, such as ZENworks, SMS, Altiris, or Ghost. Thaw, Freeze, query, or re-configure using DFC
